CT unveils new starters and employee of the month

Chris Channer

Here is a round-up of the latest people news here at CT.

CT is delighted to welcome Senior Onsite Engineer Chris Channer to our growing implementation team.

Chris brings a wealth of networking and infrastructure experience after 11 years at Home Group. He holds and important and respected ITIL v3 qualification, and is a Cisco Certified Network Associate.

His previous role, as a Field Support Partner, saw him provide services to internal colleagues by visiting sites daily to support the corporate network and systems.

This included ensuring services were delivered to a high standard and within SLAs, to ensure that systems were fit for purpose.

At CT, Chris has joined a rapidly expanding team and his role will enable him to use his strong skillset to further strengthen our technical capabilities and help us to continue to attract high-calibre mid-market customers.

We are also delighted to welcome our latest apprentice, Jack Longthorne, who joins as a technical support engineer.

Jack is the sixth technical support apprentice to join the company in the past 4 years and all previous apprentices are now fully-qualified and valuable members of the technical team.

Jack started his apprenticeship at the age of 23, when he realised he wanted to leave his existing role in engineering and pursue a career in IT.

After attending several computing and conectivity courses, Jack’s passion for the industry was ignited and he pursued his chosen career path.

CT has a highly-respected apprenticeship programme that has already generated one Derbyshire Times Apprentice of the Year, when Jamie Ridgeway won the accolade, in 2014, and has since worked his way up the ranks to be a very accomplished technical support engineer.

Meanwhile, Jane Preece, CT’s finance manager, is employee of the month.

Nominated by colleague Debbie Hull, Jane has shown unfaltering dedication to helping customers receive clear and accurate billing information while ensuring they have the details they need on the services they have been provided.

CT's Managing Director, Ian Snow, said: "Jane’s role involves continuous communication and liaison between all the departments here at CT.

"Accuracy, attention to detail and excellence in reporting is vital to provide a clear flow of communication to ensure precise and timely invoicing. We are delighted Jane has been recognised for all her hard work."
