Wigmore Hall hosts over 460 concerts each year, sells around 200,000 tickets annually, and manages more than 250,000 CRM records. Therefore, ensuring the protection and proper handling of this data was of vital importance.
Insufficient protection against ransomware attacks
Having already invested in Veeam backups, Wigmore Hall faced three key challenges:
- The complexities of the Hall’s CRM and inventory (self-hosted Tessitura) made the requirements for business continuity challenging.
- The offsite storage they relied on was vulnerable to ransomware, and restoring systems was both complex and time-consuming.
- There was a new requirement MS365 backups.
These issues and requirements were placing a strain on the technology team who were spending a disproportionate amount of time testing DR invocation; troubleshooting networking and access issues and re-writing documentation. The insufficient protection against ransomware attacks was a business risk and affected the organisation’s cyber insurance.
