What is the role?
As Management Accountant, you have responsibility for the financial management reporting of the company,
Primary Objectives will include:
- Prepare accurate and timely management accounts
- Support the SMT in improving business systems and processes
- Support the Finance Team
- Safeguard the accuracy of financial information through the month
Responsibilities:
The key duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the Financial Controller
- Review variances to identify reasons for over/underspend and posting errors
- Update the monthly management accounts file
- Undertake monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare supporting accruals/prepayments, work in progress etc. for review by the Financial Controller
- Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the budgets and forecasts
- Review spending against budget at an office and departmental level and report on variations
- Maintain P&L and cash flow forecasts
- Completion of the quarterly VAT return
- Payment of all HMRC related liabilities in accordance with statutory requirements
- Review financial systems and processes, recommending improvements
- Assist with transactional processes.
- Support the Finance Team in resolving outstanding queries
- Ad hoc work as required by the Finance Director, Financial Controller and the Management Team.
Skills & experience:
The successful candidate should have:
- Part-qualified through a chartered body or qualified by experience.
- Experience on a mid-market accounting package, such as Sage Intacct
- Autotask or similar CRM/ERP software
- Intermediate Microsoft Office capabilities, including Excel.
- Self-motivation and enthusiasm
- Strong communication skills/written & verbal
- Ability to provide timely and accurate record of works
- Ability to organise and prioritise work
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently alone or as part of a team
- Excellent organisational skills
The successful candidate would benefit from having the following experience:
- Experience within a technology market
- Prior knowledge of the MSP or Cloud Services markets

This role is full time, based in our head office in Chesterfield.
