What is the role?
We’re seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our growing MSP team. You’ll lead technical implementations, mentor junior engineers, and help drive our transformation into a national technology partner.
To succeed, you’ll be proactive, a strong communicator, and have solid technical, commercial, and financial understanding of CT’s services. Experience in the IT or MSP industry is essential, along with a commitment to leading by example and aligning with our company values.
You’ll act as a technical escalation point, reviewing project plans to ensure best-fit solutions, and work closely with customers to deliver and implement technology solutions. In addition, you’ll mentor junior colleagues, support their development, and collaborate across teams to shape CT’s technology and service strategies, performing cost-benefit and ROI analyses where required.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver technical implementations including installations, migrations, and troubleshooting.
- Act as preferred engineer for designated customer accounts.
- Provide technical escalation and mentoring for junior engineers.
- Collaborate with the Projects Team to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to business growth.
Knowledge & experience:
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in a technical MSP environment.
- Hands-on delivery of IT projects including Microsoft 365 and cloud migrations.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
- Strong technical skills across Windows Server, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualisation, and networking.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify business opportunities.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working in a rapidly expanding SME.
- Familiarity with the MSP service market.

Location and Reporting:
This is a full-time role reporting to the Implementation Manager. The role involves a mix of office-based work (Chesterfield/Leicester), home working, and UK-wide customer site visits.
